It just an option, if you don't like it don't use it. Frankly, i've been playing this game for 2 days and i think this game is quite good. I don't use this trainer if it's on my profile, that wouldn't be interesting for me. But in certain situation (make your nephew amazed) this trainer is the solutioncheers.

Re: Eschalon Book II v1.02 +11 Trainer
There was a very good trainer for Eschalon Book I's Mac users (Goblin Hacker). I hope there will be one for this sequel soon
From now, I wonder how do you change the value (for example money) of the character file. Do you use an hexadecimal editor ? Which value do you have to change ?
Thanks for your help

Yes, use a hex editor. As for values, part of the fun (for me) in editing the save file was trial-and-error editing. If you have a save file, then spend 1 gold and make a new save, you can compare (diff aka differences) the files and thereby find the location. You can also use a memory editor instead of a file editor, but the learning curve may be higher if you aren't familiar with this technique. HTH

I'd be checking that code over carefully before running it. 'Cheating' aka Trainer Program is easy enough to do with a basic hex editor and 2 minutes of your time experimenting, or by using a memory editor (ie: ArtMoney). I don't know what the official policy is regarding save file editing, but I expect BW is laissez-faire given xolotl's Book 1 character AND map editor that is openly discussed in this forum. Just my opinion.

What you talkin' bout, Willis?? Your post makes no sense. 1- xolotl's Book ONE character & map editor runs under Linux, and with some effort, other platforms too. 2- 'Mac' can run both MacOS and/or Windows and/or Linux. 'Windows', what does that mean?? Intel/AMD-based personal computers?? Which btw can also run MacOS... 3- Xolotl has stated on this board that he is busy playing Book II, but he plans to update his program for Book II. My points were that if you want to 'train' your character, I recommend editing the file (or RAM) yourself and not trusting some unknown executable from a poster previously unknown to this community (ie: 1-post history). Caveat Emptor.pincaviglia86 wrote:I believe that thing of zolotl's is for mac and not windows. Either way, it probably wouldn't work, even if it was for windows....because the trainer this thread is about, doesn't work either.Lhoric wrote:You all are mighty trusting of some fellow who wrote a patcher for a demo/unregistered version of Book II. Re: Eschalon Book II v1.02 +11 Trainer
Great ! I've found a mac software which performs this task. Any mac user can find it there : http://www.dogcows.com/chaz/wiki/TheCheat.Lhoric wrote:Yes, use a hex editor. Select the software you want to watch ("book_2") after loading your saved game, and type the amount of gold you have for retrieving the right hex value. Buy a potion or anything else in game and see the change to find the exact value (for ex. : I had 800 gold before, now I have 755). Edit the hexadecimal value with "755" and modify it for "90000", apply change, it's done !
This works very fine. Thanks for your help Lhoric !

[Edit: I'm still waiting for an excellent trainer for mac, with a beautiful skill editor

Well, unfortunately, ioquatix, the guy behind Goblin Hacker (the Mac editor for Book I), hasn't been around these boards since 2008.Heliogabale wrote:Great ! I've found a mac software which performs this task. Any mac user can find it there :

I'm hoping ioquatix will show up again before too long, and maybe give us Goblin Hacker II...

You're welcome. I appreciate that you did a little work on your own and didn't ask for specific file/memory locationsHeliogabale wrote: This works very fine. Thanks for your help Lhoric !![]()

Re: Eschalon Book II v1.02 +11 Trainer
Downloaded Demo V1.03 yesterday and I uninstalled it to get Demo V1.02
Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and no luck getting the trainer to work with the Demo version 1.02
Will try downloading Demo version 1.01 and try to use the 1.01 trainer tomorrow

Re: Eschalon Book II v1.02 +11 Trainer
I never found a good trainer for Eschalon Book I. The couple that I found contained malware or were rejected by Norton as unsafe. This one for Book II seems to work well but I am wrestling with myself to avoid using it.

Re: Eschalon Book II v1.02 +11 Trainer
I downloaded the trainer and executed it and it showed me a list of the hotkeys but then i start getting this message "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.
What's going on?

A Windows-only trainer for a cross-platform game? Weak!
I don't suppose you'd be willing to post the hex offsets for the save game files?

I'm running on XP, besides based on the visitor OS statistics. Maybe in the next future
