Reentry into Fathamurk

Post by dundonalddub »

Is there any way to go back into Fathamurk after you finish to retrieve loot? When I tried to return a portcullis was closed and I couldn't get back in. BTW, I loved this new extension.

Take along some potions of ogre strength, or have the spell before you go in. That will let you haul away some extra loot before you leave. Especially since some of the heaviest and most valuable pieces seem to be near the end.

Nice idea. was wondering - what if you left a portal in Fathamurk? Would that allow you to go back in, or no?

Check out my walkthroughs:

No. Fathamurk has a magic dampening barrier that keeps you from being able to portal in or out (or even within the dungeon).

Slightly off-topic here, but did anyone else feel like that effect was over-used in Book II? It makes sense in Fathamurk, Lorewitch, Hammerlorne, and maybe one or two other places, but it's on a lot of maps evidently for not much reason.

Granted, it was a bit silly in Book I being able to murder the king, fight his guards for a while, portal out, heal up, rinse, repeat.

My guess is that this was just another "missed detail" in the rush to get Book II out the door after the delays, like the unusually large number of maps (including even some dungeons!) that don't allow for 'camping spawns'.

I am hoping that, at some point after Book III comes out, BW gets back to Book II and puts out an expansion/update that "fixes" a lot of the little left-over "issues" like this.
