i had the same prob, i'm using win xp sp2, i just backed up my saves, uninstalled then re-installed and copied my saves folder back and it fixed it, i did lose my quicksave tho.

i cleared the hive cave already and killed the queen and i tossed the stinger because i was encumbered and the stats weren't good, then i go to liliths house and find out that the stinger is needed for the main quest :(
have i really shafted myself??? or will the queen respawn??? necessary quest ...

actually i found out you don't have to die to duplicate items, just pick it up with a left click and then restore a savegame and it'll start by saying do you really want to drop this item so you choose no, and this works for chests, you can open a chest take an item you like in hand with a left ...

it doesn't seem that there are any negative results if they only hear you, i think its basically a warning to let you know that someone is close by and might catch you, like if they have their back to you and they can hear you commiting a crime then you know if they face you you'll be caught.

hmmm i'm not sure then, did you make sure you stepped on the pressure plate in the middle of the room after you put the items in the chest?? i'm not sure what items go where, i'm guessing an endless ribbon of metal is a ring, and consumed by fire must be wood of some sort, and i forget the other one ...

Seems like arrows are a bit costly so far, they run out quick and are expensive to replenish.

Do you have to have the spot hidden skill to find hidden doors and stuff? IF so, I gotta get that, can't play a game without finding hidden stuff!

i don't think you absolutely need the spot hidden skill ...

i think you need items that have the label special, i've found an acorn which i'm guessing is for the womb of a tree chest, i also found a locket but i don't think it belongs in the chests, both of those items are labelled as special.

if you don't start a rogue, then there aren't any lockpicks in that stump, but there are 3 lockpicks in either a barrel or a chest right around where you start, just to the northeast i think, unless it was just a random chance that gave them to me?? i have noticed that items are different after ...

kind of makes the alchemy skill more important so you can make your own potions, i haven't played long yet but from what i've seen cure disease potions at least are very expensive and the shopkeeper only had 2 of them, i've been diseased twice in the same fight with 1 walking dead, that makes for a ...

i wish i hadda known there was a lore spell before wasting skill points on the skill. also kind of a bummer when you find out you can pay for the cartographer skill after you have spent points on it, also there is a book that gives you the mercantile skill.

hehe thanks, i figured that might be the case but i'm kinda obsessive compulsive, i just have to know whats in there now :P

actually i finished 3 quests so far that way, i already had the items i needed when i got to the quest givers, thats always kind of nice.

Does anyone know what this lever is for?? its in the first town in the blacksmiths shop behind a chest, so to get to it you have to bash the chest, i tried this and moved the lever but i never noticed anything happening and it didn't say anything happened like it usually does when you move a lever??

theres a tomb in a little garden in the ossuary that can't be picked, it says you have to choose the correct pin to open it and there are 200 pins so trial and error will take forever, i've tried 1-50 and its not any of those.i'll keep trying and let you know when i get it so you don't have to do ...

if you are holding an item with your mouse by left clicking on it, then you die and reload you still have that item held and in your inventory, so you can double items this way, so if you have a potion held then die, and reload you now have 2 then you can save od it again and have 4 etc...
